We’re excited that we have a brand new team member! Meet Localist Digital Marketing Manager Alex Parent.
I first learned about Localist from a friend who described it as “one of the best places I’ve ever worked.” After hearing a comment like that, I knew I had to do more research on the company. The more I learned, the more excited I became about joining the team — it seemed like the perfect mix of great people, culture and product.
I also previously worked at a company that was in the events industry so it’s great to be back in the space with the opportunity to market a powerful tool that will help connect people through events.
The past several years I’ve been a part of some great D.C. startups where I served in digital marketing roles. At Localist, I’m excited to be able to leverage my past experiences and learn new skills that will help individuals find, discover and share more events.
A Little More About Me
I’m a Washington, D.C. lifer. I grew up right outside of the city and absolutely love the area – with the exception of some of the winters we’ve had in recent years. I also really enjoy traveling. My wife and I have a goal of traveling to every continent in five years with the exception of Antarctica. (If you couldn’t tell from my previous comment, I’m not a huge fan of cold weather.) My favorite place that we’ve traveled to so far is St. Martin – great weather, beaches, people and the food was amazing!
About a year ago, we rescued a dog from a shelter named Mila so a lot of our weekends are spent going to dog parks, long walks or buying expensive dog toys that are shredded in three minutes.
